 Drink plenty of water
Water flushes out toxins in the body, which if accumulated can cause aches, pains and headaches. It keeps our joints well oiled preventing joint diseases such arthritis in later life. Water helps our gut to work more efficiently, preventing constipation and irritable bowel syndrome. It also hydrates the skin, drinking plenty of water can combat skin problems such as excema, dry skin and wrinkles. Try to drink about 2 litres of water a day, starting with a glass with a slice of lemon in as soon as you get up to rehydrate and get your engine going. Spread your water intake throughout the day. Many people say they don't like the taste of water so why not opt for herbal teas? They can be incredibly beneficial- and there is one for every occasion! (My particular favorite drink, especially in the colder months, is hot water with freshly sliced ginger, honey and lemon to boost The immune system.)

Get a good nights sleep

A good nights sleep gives your body a chance to restore and heal itself. It is also suggestedthat overall good health, quality of sleep and the chance of living to a ripe old age are linked. Avoid caffeine, sugar, fatty foods and alcohol after 6pm. A bath infused with aromatherapy oils such as lavender and chamomile can help to relax and de-stress. A soothing bedtime drink to calm the nervous system is camomile or valerian tea. A comfortable bed, darkness and quiet are also key to a good nights sleep.

Eat well

We all know we should be eating lots of fresh produce for our overall general health. Packedwith vitamins, minerals and fibre, fresh fruit and vegetables are vital to help prevent illness,as well as boosting immunity. These foods are also an elixir of youth too. Fruit and vegetables are rich in vitamin C which is important to help build collagen , which keeps skin elastic Berries are packed with vitamins and anti aging benefits, avocado is rich in vitamin A and E, blueberries are also a great youth booster. Try to get at least 5 portions a day.

Take up Yoga

Yoga is for people of all ages and abilities as everybodys body is unique. Yoga is great forpeople who want a more flexible body, but its also great for stress, helps to improve posture, balance and poise. It improves breathing, teaches us to be more aware of our bodies, a recipe for a healthier, body, mind and spirit.

Laugh a lot

A good giggle boosts immunity, lowers stress, lessens pain, reduces blood pressure andlifts the mood. The overall benefits can help to keep you young in mind and body, so keep smiling.

Discover Facial massage

Massaging your skin is the biggest favour you can do it, it gets the circulation going and theimproved blood flow gives you instant radiance, delivers nutrients to the skin and drains the lymph so the skin is less puffy. Using a facial oil on a cleansed face, begin by using alternate hands to sweep up your neck in an upward direction gently, do this two or three times. Using your fingertips, massaging your face with circular movements to boost circulation and lymphatic drainage, whilst dispersing any congestion under the surface of the skin. start from the jawline and work upwards. When you reach the eye area, sweep eyes along your brow in a continuous stroke moving outwards and then underneath the eye towards the nose. Repeat this two or three times. As well as being relaxing this technique will help to drain any fluid build up, boost blood flow and feed oxygen to the eye area. Finish by massaging the forehead working from the middle of the forehead out, towards the temples.

Facial oils

Facial oils are nourishing, restorative and are excellent for dry, sensitive and more mature skin.Apply nightly by giving a wonderful rejuvenating facial massage. I make my own using apricot kernel oil which is high in Vitamins A an C, Rose and Franc ins en se essential oils and evening primrose which is high in essential fatty acids. Facial oils are not heavy on the skin and are absorbed immediately.

Salt scrubs

A salt scrub is a combination of salts, carrier oils and essential oils which when combinedtogether exfoliate the body and face, removing dead skin cells, providing long lasting moisturisation, leaving you with a healthy glow. You can use in the bath or shower (a shower can be easier , although using in the bath allows you to soak up the therapeutic properties of the salt) Standing up, be careful as the oils can make the floor slippery, take a handful of the scrub and rub it all over your body working towards the heart. when you have done your complete body, shower. We make our own, using sea salt. olive oil, fresh herbs such as, lavender, mint, rosemary and fennel and pure essential oils. They are easy and inexpensive to make, We store ours in the old fashioned kilner jars which are recyclable.

Last of all but not least, make sure you...
 "LOVE THE SKIN YOU'RE IN!"
